Givosity

Givosity is the first web3 native public charity aiming to do charity more efficiently and effectively via the web3 ecosystem.

When businesses fail to innovate, Blockbuster gets replaced by Netflix. When charities fail to innovate, countless human beings do not receive the help they deserve. Givosity plans to reimagine charity for the blockchain age. We want to feed the hungry more efficiently, house the homeless more effectively, and generally make the world a better place via technological and operational innovation. We are on the precipice of a wholesale charitable revolution.

Blockchain technology can anonymize giving and end government intrusion into donor lists (this is more relevant in some jurisdictions than others). It can dramatically decrease cross-jurisdictional financial friction by increasing transaction speed (transactions can be near-instant and happen any day, any time). It can avoid governmental interference and regulatory burdens that impair traditional banks. The corruption that significantly impairs much of the world's humanitarian aid can be largely avoided via blockchain transfers.

Perhaps most significantly, the larger web3 ecosystem enables the creation of revenue generation mechanisms vastly different from the perpetual fundraising methods of traditional charities. Rather than standing outside department stores asking shoppers for coins, we can sell various utility-packed, multichain NFT collections and release a native token. We can embed charitable giving into various up-and-coming blockchains. We can create token exchange utilities and decentralized finance applications that fund the charity's treasury. With web3 development culture still in its early stages, we have a golden opportunity to make charitable giving an integral part of all web3 projects. Perhaps future web3 projects will consider it a social norm to donate a flat three percent of profits to a designated web3 native charity such as Givosity.

But the innovation goes beyond the blockchain. Typical charities are governed by small groups of people with stale ideas and business models more suited to the 19th century than the 21st. By applying the "wisdom of the crowd" principle via a DAO, we can apply diverse ideas that enable us to both earn buy-in from Givosity contributors and achieve a competitive advantage over traditional nonprofit firms. The innovation methods of the internet revolution and the decentralization principles of the blockchain revolution should, for the good of all humanity, be applied to charity.

As we are a legally registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all grants we receive and token sales we make will be completely tax-exempt and tax-deductible in the United States. This gives us both financial and marketing advantages over competing NFT membership projects. If we can leverage the small amount of goodwill naturally provided to nonprofit charity projects, we can embed charitable giving in all corners of the web3 ecosystem, lead the charity revolution, and change the world for the good of those who live in it.

Givosity will begin our charity efforts with an NFT membership sale and DAO. The DAO will guide our future charity efforts and the corporation (Givosity, Inc.) and its nonprofit staff will execute. We are not a fundraising effort for various traditional charities. We are building a new organization from the ground up. We are building the future of charity.
